If no solution is presented, I would look through your mod list. With the synthetic heart, you should be able to install it regardless, as it is an improvement from the normal heart. Make sure if you do this, when you make the colonist to test on that they have some sort of heart problem (you can force one onto them with dev mode), because AFAIK the heart transplant option will not show if there is no problem with the original heart. I recommend duplicating your save and attempting to replace the heart of a human colonist, as if this is successful you now know the cause. You did say the colonist you were trying on wasn't human. If install heart is grayed out, you should be able to hover over it and it should say "need better medicine" or something akin to that if a different requirement isn't met. Also, check grayed out surgeries, because you may possibly need better medicine. ![]() ![]() In vanilla, as Astasia said, no research is required for installing a heart. I'm not well versed in EPOE research tree so I can't be sure. On the research end, I'm not sure, you should look over the research tree for EPOE.
